Go Home Lake Art Market is back!

After a three year pause, the Art Market is back and we have 16 artisans/vendors ready to show and sell you their creations on Saturday August 19 (rain date August 20) from 11am to 3pm on the Regatta Beach.

Go Home Lake and art have a rich history. It has been the source of artistic inspiration for generations. The idea behind a Go Home Lake Art Market emerged in an effort to find a way to celebrate this and to create a stage for the artwork created because of Go Home Lake, by Go Home Lakers, to stand on.  And so the spring of 2018 marked the first whisperings of a GHL Art Market.

As the weeks rolled on the whisperings became much louder and news of this new event began to spread into the bays of Go Home. Jenna Stewart (Dukelow) and Jackie Saik, the two ladies responsible for the Art Market in 2018 and 2019, simply wanted to bring together artisans of Go Home Lake to celebrate art, community and the lake itself. The end result far surpassed any of their expectations. The boats spilled in in droves from all corners of the lake, lining the beach and forcing latecomers to float in the bay and wait their turn to steal a piece of the beach for themselves. The pavilion was standing room only, shoulder to shoulder for over three hours. As Lakers flowed passed vendor tables the over whelming response from them was one of awe, inspiration and pride in their Go Home Family. It was truly remarkable how the community of Go Home Lake responded to this event.

After a pause due to Covid-19, the Go Home Lake Cottage Owners Association is proud to present this event. We invite all to come out and support the wonderful participants of this year’s show. Please scroll down to see some information about who will be at the market and get ready shop on August 19!

The Founding of the Go HomeLake Art Market

Go Home Lake and art have a rich history. As already stated it has been the source of artistic inspiration for generations.

Jenna Stewart (Dukelow) and Jackie Saik, the two ladies responsible for its debut in August that same year, simply wanted to bring together artisans of Go Home Lake to celebrate art, community and the lake itself. The end result far surpassed any of their expectations.

With a line up of 19 incredibly talented vendors, varying across all genres of creation, they set up the Regatta beach with tables, chairs, and canopies on a dewy Sunday morning in August. Before the actual start time of 10am the lake began to show up.

Such a response speaks to that inexplicable ‘thing’ about the lake; the ‘thing’ that inspires us to paint, build, cook, grow, nourish; the ‘thing’ that unites us no matter where we come from or what our history is. It’s this ‘thing’ that drives us to create and it’s this ‘thing’ that unites our Go Home community. This ‘thing’ is whatever Go Home Lake does to our soul that you simply can’t explain with words. It creates a connection deep down in your core. Go Home Lakers have a place in their hearts meant for only each other. We all share that same feeling of knowing that a piece of our souls are forever a part of the trees and the lake. And it is this love and passion that made the first ever Go Home Lake Art Market a roaring success. Jenna and Jackie (The J-S Team) are beyond grateful for the Lakes support and cannot wait to continue to celebrate the inspiration Go Home Lake creates in so many of us.
